Emergency Travel Certificate

Emergency Travel Documents are issued on application to facilitate one-way return for Nigerian Nationals stranded here in Vietnam or being deported. These documents are retrieved on arrival in Nigeria by the relevant authority.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMERGENCY TRAVEL CERTIFICATE (ETC)

The forms available in .pdf format, and can be downloaded, printed out and returned to the embassy with the following;

  • 1) An application letter by the applicant to the Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Vietnam.

     (Clearly stating why the Emergency Travel Document is needed. The letter should contain the applicant’s local government area and state of origin in Nigeria).

    2) A copy of bio-data page of Nigerian passport.

    3) Two (2) recent coloured passport photographs (Size 4 x 6 cm)

    4) A copy of tentative flight itinerary.

    5) A recommendation letter from the Representatives of Nigerian Community in Vietnam.

    (Mr. Ernest Ike Okafor, the Acting President of Nigerian Community; or Mr. Nnadozie Uzor Nadis, Financial Secretary in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern provinces; or Mr. Michael Omar, Representative in Hanoi Capital and Northern provinces).

    6) Filled ETC form (kindly download on the Embassy’s website).

    7) Original receipts of payments.

    8) In case the applicant lost her/his Nigerian passport, a copy of the police report should be attached to (in English and Vietnamese).  

For minors

In addition, for children under 17 a consent letter from the father, or if the mother has legal guardianship, a consent letter from the mother, as well as their passport photograph to accompany the child’s application.
